Saddle Bronc Brown Ale

By Black Tooth Brewing Co.

You know those days when you start early and go long. When you finally grab a cold water and it tastes as good as any water you have had in recent memory, even though it is just every day water.

Well that is the way this beer is tasting. Soo good after a long day. As a brown it has a good Carmel and a good grain flavor.

An easy drinker with enough flavor to make it interesting. Not something that I’ll search out but absolutely something I would grab again if I came across.

Keweenaw Pick Axe

The pick axe name must be a throw back to the U.P. Mining culture as there is nothing about this beer that is sharp or aggressive and for that reason my six pack is sitting in the garage fridge with a single lone soldier.

The can describes its self as “Love is Blonde – Blonde ale pick axe is a slightly malty American blonde ale” as I’m a little lazy and quite thirsty it is hard the judge the color in the can but it is a solid wheat ale that I’d be happy to drink again

Schell’s Cream Ale

When I picked up this 6 pack on my way to dinner with my wife and friends I definitely had thoughts in my head of Cream soda, this was in no way comparable to Cream soda.

This one definitely reminded me of a brown beer. It had a slight bitter taste but still refreshing and easily drinkable.

LAGUNITAS IPA Sampler

I’m not sure that there is a more appropriate time to pick up a sampler pack then a good old fashioned family get together. To be honest I’ve never been a big IPA fan. The heavy hops in IPA’s have a very recognizable aroma, flavor but was not typically the taste I was after when Sitting down to enjoy a beer.

The Daytime IPA definitely has a hop flavor but it definitely did not punch me in the nose and throte as hard as other IPS I’ve had in the past.

This definitely could be a beer that I would buy a 6 pack when looking for a causal sipping beer.

Little Sumpin’ when I first popped the top I could smell the hops. Though the taste was not as strong as I was expecting. Not as smooth as the Daytime. Still enjoyable but would not likely head to the beer store looking to pick it up.

Maybe I’m getting tired of the IPA’s but the last of the sampler pack simply named Lagunitas IPA seamed to find a way to stick in the back of my throat to the point that I found my reaching for it, not because I wanted to take a drink but because I opened it and felt like I needed to finish it. I drank all but the last couple swallows.

For someone who wouldn’t intentionally reach for and in reality avoided IPA’s in the past. I enjoyed the Daytime. The other two left me remembering why I didn’t enjoy IPA’s in the past. They seemed thick and sickly bitter. Leaving me reaching for a glass of water.
